Blog #3 Interesting Words

Interesting Words

There are many interesting words in the English language. I personally think homophones are pretty interesting. “A homophone is a word that sounds the same as another word but has a different meaning and/or spelling. “Flower” and “flour” are homophones because they are pronounced the same but you certainly can’t bake a cake using daffodils.” (Vocabulary.com) Ever since I first learned about homophones when I was younger they have always been interesting to me. Kids would always be confused when trying to understand what the teacher was trying to say about homophones but I never was. I loved the little worksheets my english teacher would give my class in grade school. I always had a fun time doing those worksheets. Sadly I don’t really use homophones a lot but occasionally they come up whenever I’m writing a long essay.

Blog #2 My Writing Challenge

    My Writing Challenge

The only writing challenge I know I have had was recently was in my Communication Tech. class. Our assignment was to write a four page essay on an entrepreneur. Everyone thought it was easy, I don’t know why it was so difficult for me. The hard part of it for me was finding all the information on my entrepreneur and stretching it onto four pages. I wanted all the information on my entrepreneur to be written in order of his life from birth to now but it was hard to organize it all and make sense at the same time. I got all the information I could and tried to make it into an essay. I was worried it wasn’t going to make sense, but once people started editing my essay it got easier for me because I had help from those editing my paper telling me how to make it better. It was difficult for me to do but I never gave up.
